JSC delay decision on Hlophe

Media Statement

Today, 04 June 2021, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), sitting without members designated by the National Assembly and National Council of Provinces, had a virtual meeting to consider the report of the Judicial Conduct Tribunal (JCT) established to investigate the complaint lodged by Justices of the High Court.

 

The JSC considered the JCT report, the record of the proceedings and the representations submitted by the parties in terms of section 20(1)(b) of the Judicial Service Commission Act, 1994. It was unable to finalise this matter and the meeting was postponed to 30 July 2021 for a decision to be made.
