If media houses wish to cover, broadcast and report on the Tribunal proceedings they are advised to submit written applications. This is in line with section 29 of the Judicial Service Commission Act (No.9 of 1994). This section prescribes that Tribunal proceedings shall be held in private and that there shall be no publication of those proceedings. The provision authorizes the Tribunal President to relax those conditions if so requested and is shown that a public hearing and publication of the proceedings will be in the public interest and would promote transparency. The applications should be submitted to Ms Mbali Mondlane email: MMondlane@judiciary.org.za and copy Ms Dimakatso Ramaisa email: DiRamaisa@judiciary.org.za – by no later than 16h00 on 8 March 2024. Please note that the submission of an application does not guarantee approval for admission. Approval for admission to cover the proceedings by the media is in the discretion of the Tribunal President in consultation with the Chief Justice. The ruling of the Tribunal President will be communicated via email.
