JSC Candidates

The October 2019 JSC interviews took place in Midrand, Johannesburg on 07 – 11 October 2019.

On 31 May 2019 the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) published notices in the media calling for nominations of interested persons to fill 17 vacancies in the various superior courts. The closing date for submission of nominations was set for 28 June 2019. On 06 August 2019, the JSC met and compiled a short list of candidates who were interviewed in Midrand, Johannesburg on 07 – 11 October 2019:

Even though five vacancies were initially advertised by the JSC, during the course of the interviews the JSC was advised that two more vacancies were available on the Gauteng bench. The JSC therefore took the decision to nominate seven candidates for appointment.

In total, the JSC has therefore shortlisted 36 candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be notified of the date, time and venue of the interviews in due course.
