SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES FOR JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT
On 31 October 2024 the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) published notices in the media calling for nominations of interested persons to fill vacancies in the following courts – Competition Appeal Court, Electoral Court and Labour Court. The closing date for submission of nominations was 2 December 2024. The following candidates have been shortlisted to be interviewed on 1 April 2025.

The JSC had received one nomination for the two vacancies. Due to the fact that the nominated candidate is not a Judge, he is not eligible for appointment. As a result, the JSC could not shortlist the nominated candidate.
After deliberations, the JSC has resolved to recommend Judge Leicester Adams for appointment as a judge of the Electoral Court.
After deliberations the Judicial Service Commission has resolved to recommend the following for appointment as a judge of the Labour Court:
– Ms Tapiwa Cecilia Gandidze (Cape Town)
The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on 1 April 2025 and will be notified of the venue, date and time of the interviews in due course.

Comments in respect of each candidate must be submitted on a separate page in both pdf and word format and must reach the Secretariat by no later than 10 March 2025. Comments received after 10 March 2025 will not be considered.
