This article highlights a commendable initiative offering ten-month legal internships at the High Courts in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. In partnership with the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit (DGRU) at the University of Cape Town, this program provides recent law graduates with hands-on experience in legal research and court proceedings. Such opportunities are invaluable for aspiring legal professionals, fostering a deeper understanding of the judicial system and enhancing practical skills. It’s encouraging to see efforts that bridge academic knowledge with real-world application, contributing to the development of competent and experienced legal practitioners in South Africa
