Advocate Mluleki Martin Chithi has built a distinguished legal career with over two decades of experience, particularly in criminal law, personal injury, and land restitution matters. His journey in law began at the UNITRA Law Clinic in 2001, where he served as a candidate attorney until 2002. This role provided him with invaluable hands-on experience working on behalf of marginalized and vulnerable communities, setting the foundation for his passion for human rights.
Following his time at the clinic, Advocate Mluleki Martin Chithi joined Lawyers for Human Rights Legal Aid South Africa in 2002 as a Professional Assistant. There, he worked on civil and constitutional law matters, representing clients in both the High Court and Magistrates’ Court. In 2006, his experience and commitment to legal aid led him to Durban, where he served as a High Unit Professional Assistant with Legal Aid South Africa. In this role, he managed complex criminal cases, particularly those involving serious offenses and Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims. His expertise in these areas is widely respected.
In 2009, Advocate Chithi transitioned into private practice, where he continues to serve as an advocate with a focus on criminal law, RAF-related claims, and personal injury cases. Over the years, he has honed his courtroom advocacy skills, becoming a reliable and formidable counsel for his clients. His extensive experience in land restitution cases has also made him an important figure in advocating for social justice and restoring rights to dispossessed communities.
